As always, I started Spotify on Linux Mint and, for whatever reason, the applicatiob opened in full screen mode. There were no more window frames so I couldn’t shrink or close the application

The best solution was to delete the configuration file. In my case and in most other cases, it’s probably in the ~/.config/spotify directory . You reach the folder via the command line or make invisible folders (that start with .) visible in your file manager with the keyboard combination Strg+ H and then work your way to the spotify directory.

Here I have now deleted the file prefs. If you feel the need to, you can also make a backup before doing this. Knowing the .config folder is always a good idea on Linux as many programs store configuration files here.
